LED Matrix NTP Set Clock 2 Displays for Arduino Mega ESP8266 WeMos

This is a demonstration of a 2 level clock on LED Matrix Displays set by NTP with auto-DST time changing Each row is 8 modules of 8x8 LEDs for a total of 512 LEDs. Two rows make 1024.

The hookup is easy. It uses hardware SPI. I have an ESP8266 running this demo. The SPI pins are D5 (clock) R7 (data) and there are two CS signals on D1 and D2. You could use the standard D8 if you wish.

This might run on an Arduino Uno but the memory will be close to max. But there is little math going on so it should be OK.

I am powering the displays with an external 5V10A power supply. This is overkill but it was cheap and small and had screw terminals. Be sure to run a ground from the power supply to the controller board and, of course, to the displays.

You will need to change the pins for use on an Arduino or WeMos, of course. Just find the HW SPI pins and pick a couple of unused pins for the CS signals.
